Hodaka Pabatco Book

By Jeff Hackett, Patti and Amy Stannard
Limited to a thousand hand-numbered copies, this book sold like hot cakes at its release at the Mid-Ohio event in 2006. So don’t wait too much longer to buy one is our advice, there’s not many left!
The 46 page, soft-bound book is, as someone else noted, more akin to a scrapbook – and that’s not by any means a criticism. It’s not an encyclopaedia of the Hodaka brand but nor is it meant to be – what it does, and does well, is give an overview of the history, models, specials and people behind the brand. Also included are some interesting reprints of selected Hodie articles and advertisements and a selection of shots from recent ‘Hodaka Days’ events.
It is an enjoyable and entertaining read and imparts a sense of why these bikes garnered such a big following back in the ‘60s/’70s – because they were simply about having fun. Brings a smile to your dial just remembering how simple life was back then….and now if you still ride a Hodaka!
